India to launch World's longest river cruise from Varanasi to Assam via Bangladesh to start from January 2023

As per the latest development, the world's longest luxury river cruise is all set to begin its journey in January 2023, if you want to be a distance of around 4000 km. This was recently introduced by the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal.

Known as Ganga Vilas Cruise, this cruise will connect Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Dibrugarh in Assam, and tour through Kolkata and Dhaka.

If reports are to go by, the ship will pass thru national parks and sanctuaries, consisting of the Kaziranga National Park and Sundarbans Delta. Also, the other highlights of this tour can be the Ganga Aarti, checking out the herbal wonders of the world's biggest mangrove forest, and visiting Mayong, that's called the cradle of 'black magic in India, amongst different things.

 

Revealing greater about this trip, the Minister introduced that the first journey will start on January 10 from Varanasi, while the cruise will reach Bogibeel in the Dibrugarh district of Assam on March 1.

The cruise will further byskip Varanasi and reach Patna on the 8th day passing thru Buxar, Ramnagar, and Ghazipur, and can be covering almost 1100 km in Bangladesh earlier than entering India.

This endeavor was possible under the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol Route, which has already opened change and transit channels connecting each of the countries on the Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers.

The Minister also added that the Ganga Vilas cruise could be present to process the longest river journey of fifty days, covering 27 river systems, and extra than 50 visitor sites, such as World Heritage Sites.
