By the time reports come in, the state government is already turning the village into a resort. The magnificent sculptures and timeless temples of Lakkundi are promoted as top tourist attractions in the region. The aim is to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

Currently, there are about 50 temples in the village of Lakkundi, most of which are in various degrees of ruin. The majority of these temples are stunning examples of architecture. These temples also exhibit a fusion of Jainism and Hinduism. For instance, the oldest and largest Jain temple, Brahma Jinalaya, which dates back to 1007 CE, contains statues of Mahavira, Parsvanath, and other significant Jain figures in addition to those of Hindu gods and goddesses. One of the most popular temples in the region is the Lakkundi, India, Virupaksha Temple, which dates back to 1010 CE.

Lakkundi village is about 100km from the Hampi site.

If there are reports, two tour routes will be launched soon: Mysuru Circuit and Hampi Circuit. The Mysuru Circuit will include important sites such as Belur, Halebeedu, and Somanathapura. Hampi Circuit will have locations like Badami, Hampi, Vijaypura, and Lakkundi to name a few.
